ABOUT THE ARTIST
Albarte is a visual artist and creative director
from Complexo do Chapadão, North Zone of
Rio de Janeiro. Currently, his artistic practice
focuses on painting and creative direction.
His work delves into the intersection
between the favela's space and Black
corporeality, exploring Blackness as a central
point of culture and identity. He invites the
audience to embark on a visual journey that
honors, celebrates, and challenges the
marginal experience, fostering a crucial
dialogue about inclusion and social justice.

Verão Marginal (Marginal Summer)
It emerges as a subseries of the series "Onde Tudo Acontece"
(where everything happens) which unfolds as a multiplatform
artistic and cultural movement, bringing together, in addition to
visual arts, other forms of visual art (such as photography and
cinema), as well as other artistic branches, such as fashion and
music.

This movement aims to give visibility to the cultures and
experiences of people living in areas far from the privileged
parts of the city of Rio de Janeiro, which are often globally
recognized when talking about the Rio de Janeiro summer. The
discussion revolves around the needs of these populations, but
above all, the solutions and leisure experiences lived by people
on the margins of the city — whether in their favelas and
outskirts, or in their journeys to the beaches of the South Zone.
