INBRAZA Baile is a self-funded cultural collective founded in 2022 on the unceded lands of the Kulin Nation (Melbourne, Australia). Born from the need to carve out space in the club scene for Afro-diasporic expression, we celebrate ancestry through music, dance, and culture — with an unapologetically sexy, stylish, and Afro-futuristic spirit.

As pioneers of Baile Funk in Australia, INBRAZA sits at the intersection of entertainment, education, and resistance. We exist to amplify underground Afro-Latinx artists, particularly those rooted in Baile Funk — a genre born in the favelas of Brazil, rich in political and cultural power, yet often marginalised or exploited in mainstream spaces.

Our mission is to revolutionise club culture by turning up the volume on voices that have long been silenced. We challenge industry norms, create real opportunities, and fight for the recognition and support that these artists deserve.
From dancefloors to panels, workshops, galleries, and creative activations, INBRAZA is where the diaspora reclaims space — um aquilombamento cultural!
THE FOUNDER

Luara Brandao was born and raised in a marginalized neighborhood in Espírito Santo, Brazil — a place where Baile Funk was the heartbeat of the community, and also the reason many faced criminalization. As a teenager growing up with this sound, Luara experienced firsthand the violence and stigma attached to it. At just 15 years old, she had a police officer point a gun at her face during a Baile Funk party — one of many “bailes” frequently shut down by the military police with extreme force.

That moment led her to distance herself from the genre for years. But over time, her perspective shifted. She came to understand Baile Funk not just as music, but as a powerful tool of resistance and identity — a cultural movement born in the favelas, that despite its global influence, still fights for respect and recognition.
Now based in Australia and working within the creative industry, Luara founded INBRAZA to reclaim that narrative — turning personal trauma into collective celebration. INBRAZA is her way of creating the space she never had growing up: a space where diasporic culture is not just tolerated, but amplified. Through this platform, she uplifts her community, honors her roots, and fights for a future where we can all dance without fear.
